Old Chateau
The Old Chateau is an old mansion (odd, since chateau means 'castle' in French :p) located in Eterna Forest. The easiest way to enter it is to enter through the Northeast of Eterna Forest. There are some trees in front of the Old Chateau, so it is necessary to bring a Pokemon that knows Cut in order to access the old Chateau.
The following Pokemon can appear:
- Gastly (anywhere)
- Haunter (put any Generation 3 Pokemon game into the DS' GBA slot, anywhere)
- Gengar (put any Generation 3 Pokemon game into the DS' GBA slot, room with eyes)
- Rotom (room with TV at night)
You can also find the following items here:
- Ether (outside house, check near the right wall for a Pokeball)
- Old Gateau (second floor, left room)
- Antidote (Dining room, go right, examine top-right trash can)
- Dread Plate (second floor, center doorway, leftmost room)
- TM90 Substitute (second floor, center doorway, rightmost room)
- Rare candy, Big Pearl, Honey, Insect Plate (listed on Bulbapedia, though I don't remember where to find them :P)
In Pokemon Platinum, it is implied that Charon was the one who lived in the Old Chateau. As the Rotom event shows, Charon was the one who discovered Rotom, and Rotom lives in a TV in the Old Chateau. If you come at night, check the TV and say 'yes' to banging it to enter battle with a level 15 (D/P) or level 20 (Pl) Rotom. Interestingly enough, the legendary Pokemon music plays, and the screen swivels around the Television like a legendary Pokemon fight, but Rotom is not usually classified as a legendary Pokemon due to its low stats and lack of any "Whoa!" ability (as cool as possesing technology is, does it compare to creating the earth, reviving the dead, and controlling space?).
There is also a chance here that you will see ghosts - not just ghost Pokémon, but Ghost people.
Little Girl
To find the little girl, go up the stairs and enter the middle room. Go the room to the right of the middle one. Enter it. There's a chance that in the screen to the right of yours, you will see the little girl look around, then float down (her feet do not move). The time when I attempted this was 23:37. You may have to enter the room several times to see if she will show up. If you go to the room where she was, you will find nothing.
Old Man
When entering the Chateau, go straight up to the middle room on the bottom floor. If the old man is there, you will walk forward one step when you enter the room, and at the top of the screen, see the old man glide across the chairs and out of view.
